About Shakil Ahmed
Shakil Ahmed currently serves as the Executive Director of Action for Balance on Climate and Dignity - ABCD. He is a development professional with over six years of experience in Bangladesh's development sector, specializing in policy advocacy, youth mobilization, and strategic communications on climate change adaptation and resilience in the Global South, driving sustainable development through expertise in climate policy and community-based adaptation strategies.
Shakil is skilled in program design, implementation, and monitoring, with a proven track record of amplifying marginalized voices, influencing policy processes, and engaging diverse stakeholders at the grassroots, national, and international levels.
He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science & Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, China, and a Bachelor of Laws from Stamford University, Bangladesh. Shakil is passionate about ensuring that people around the world can live with dignity and respect through sustainable practices.
